Joel Pobar has recently joined the TEN13 team as its inaugural Venture Partner, solidifying the firm’s commitment to Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a core investment theme and underpinning our belief that this wave of AI innovation will have an enduring and transformative impact on how the world lives and works.
Joel is currently leading infrastructure and engineering projects at AI company Anthropic, a global leader in foundation large language models last publicly valued at ~US$18bn, and spent more than a decade at Meta as a senior engineering organisational leader, working on AI projects such as PyTorch, an open source deep learning framework.
Joel has expressed his excitement about this new role - “Having closely collaborated with the TEN13 venture team, I am confident in their strategic vision and drive. I am excited to share insights from my first-hand experience working on frontier AI and contribute to TEN13's global AI investment strategy, leveraging their extensive co-investor network.”
TEN13 has been diving deeply into AI making early investments in companies such as Rockfish Data (synthetic data), Arintra (Healthcare AI), Qsic (AI Audio), and more.
This strategic expansion of TEN13's partnership and venture team signals a bold move towards harnessing AI's transformative power and will deepen the firm’s connection to expert AI networks across Australia and the US, and add considerably to the firm’s in-house AI knowledge and expertise.
Safe travels,
Stew Glynn
